The deadline for entries – Early entry, 23 April 2012, application fee 300 baht / $10 US Dollars Regular Entry, 7 May 2012, application fee 450 baht / $15 US Dollars.
Early Entry must send video, application and payment to 9FilmFest office by 23 April 2012 or by regular entry, video, application and payment must be received in 9FilmFest office by 7 May 2012.

Amazing Thailand 9FilmFest will be held at Paragon Major cineplex, Bangkok, Thailand.
What is the 9 signature item (9SI) for 2012?
The 9 signature item (9SI) for 2012 is a Heart, which means that a picture of a heart needs to be incorporated into the film either verbally or visually. Filmmakers can use the 9SI Heart in any way they would like. There are no guidelines for plots or stories, just include a Heart. Use your creative flow, to use a Heart in a unique and incredible way, to make your film outshine everyone else.
Why does my film have to feature the 9 signature item (9SI) and how can I use it?
9FilmFest is about creating films, not just screening them. The 9 signature item (9SI) will show that your film was made specifically for the Festival. Make a film about any story, but make sure it includes somewhere, the 9 signature item (9SI) as part of the background anywhere.
What is the maximum length for the 9FilmFest film?
Maximum length is 9 minutes from title to credit. However, we recommend LESS than 9 minutes and there is no minimum length.
How do I submit a short film?
Fill out the entry form, send it to the 9FilmFest office (you can send it via email, or post), along with two DVD copies (send by post) or upload your film and send it via the internet (see entry form for details).
Does 9FilmFest accept international entries?
Yes.
Does 9FilmFest accept animation?
Yes, we accept all film genres.
Are there other important restrictions?
9FilmFest must be your film’s first public screening. This means that the film must not have been screened at any other film festival, or made available on free to air or pay TV, in cinemas, on the internet or any other public arena. This does not include cast and crew screenings.
Can I re-edit a film that has already screened, so it fits the 9FilmFest guidelines?
No! This a different version of the same film, therefore if it has screened previously or otherwise made publicly available, it is not eligible for 9FilmFest.
What format am I required to shoot on?
You can shoot on whatever format you like, from HD, 16mm, Mini DV, 35mm, Mobile phone etc., just shoot on what you have available to you. However, we ask you shoot on HD for best resolution during screening.
File formats: mp4, avi, wmv and mov
What format do you accept for entry?
You must supply two DVD copies of your film, each in a separate case.
DVD should be in PAL TV format
DVD Regional code should be set to ALL REGIONS
You can record on any DVD disc that you like EXCEPT DVD-RAM
Please check that the DVDs playback in your DVD player before you submit them; if your DVD doesn’t work your entry will be disqualified
Finalist films will be screened at 16:9 widescreen.
If you send by internet, please send avi, flv or MP3 or MP4 files
Does 9FilmFest place restrictions on swearing or sexual/violent content?
Yes, we are a family oriented film festival, good taste is warranted for submissions.
Do I have to obtain copyright clearance for the music?
YES! You must own all copyright for or have written permission to use all underlying works included in the film including music, performance and script. The Media Release Form can be downloaded from our website www.9FilmFest.com.
Do I need written permission from cast etc?
Yes, you must request all actors, writers and composers of your film sign a Release Form, which can be downloaded from our website www.9FilmFest.com
All areas in your films such as music, actors, script, content and locations require clearance before you can screen your film in public. This involves getting clearances in writing from all participants during the pre-production and production process. See release forms in our apply now page.

What ratio will my film be screened at?
9FilmFest will screen all films at 16:9 ratio. This means if you shoot your film at 4:3 you need convert it to 16:9 in post-production.
Does my film need to contain subtitles?
Your film requires subtitles in English, unless your film is English, no subtitles are needed. However, all films must include an English script. If selected as a Finalist, 9FilmFest will translate and subtitle in Thai language.
All films should be submitted with English language scripts. This is mandatory.
